History
Early concepts were developed in 1998-99 for a ‘purely online accounting system’ and a company formally incorporated in 2000 as Macro Manage PL by Marc Lehmann (Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank, Advance Bank) and Grant Young (Info-onscreen, Telstra, WWF, eMedia).
Mainstream SME and mid-tier accounting firm sales started in 2001-2002 and take-up was progressive until 2006 (trading as NetApplica PL at that stage) when market awareness of SaaS (Software-as-aService) utilities saw growth rates start to increase.
In early 2007 Peter J Cooper (Macquarie Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Rothschild, ASX. Cameron Systems, Smarts Group) was appointed as CEO, additional investors joined from the partner community, the Saasu.com name was also introduced, the Saasu Foundation was conceived and transaction growth and sign-up growth more than doubled per annum.
