Many zones have supplementary or discretionary taxes that are tied to local criteria that are unique to your local zone.
Saasu has built-in support for a wide range of zones around the world for consumption based taxes (also known as sales tax, CBT, GST, VAT and others - see our glossary), just select the right zone for your file in the Edit File Settings screen.
However, many zones also have additional tax regimes above and beyond the ‘normal’ consumption tax that has become relatively standard around the world.
Rather than support the hundreds of variations of these supplementary or discretionary taxes in each zones, we offer two ways of handling these as a work around -
- add a specific inventory item for each tax and then apply to invoices using the ‘item invoice’ layout whenever that local tax isĀ required
- add a specific tracking tag (from Q2 2008) which will allow you to tag invoices with that item or use ’service invoice’ layout
In both cases you can select the invoices (based on item or tag) at the end of the period for collecting tax remittance information.
If you wish to have your local specific requirements for supplementary or discretionary taxes included in the saasu product in a more tailored way for your zone please contact us with the exact details you wish to have supported, you should also include a link to the relevant page on your local tax authority web site.
There is typically no charge for this service however development priorities are subject to commercial priorities, we do not provide a service level for development of these product extensions as they are subject to resource availability and prospects of commercial realisation from other new users being signed in your zone.
