Saasu is used for POS by customers already despite not formally having launched POS module. There are a couple of ways that Saasu can be used for POS.
Using a USB barcode reader
You could use a USB barcode reader plugged into your PC with Saasu. This enables you to generate item invoices for items that have been setup in the inventory.
The barcode of the particular item will have to be setup as the Item Code for that item in Saasu inventory first. The simplest way to do this would be to scan each item’s barcode and set them up in an spreadsheet (CSV) format, which matches the Saasu Inventory Items import format. You can then import this list into your Saasu file.
Or you could go to Add Inventory Item screen, scan the barcode into the Item Code field and then fill in the necessary details and save the item.
After the inventory items are setup properly, go to Settings > Item Lists and set Item auto-complete to “Code”.
Now you can start entering item invoices in Saasu using the barcode scanner. When you want to scan the bar code of an item, bring the cursor into the Item Code field in the invoice, and scan the bar code. The Item Code will show up in the Item Code field along with the related details.
Using Saasu Web Services API
You could also use the Saasu Web Services API in order to make your current POS system communicate with Saasu.
Saasu plug-in partners have already built connectors to Saasu to integrate with third party software. Find out more about connectors and the api. See our list of connectors currently available on SaaSBay.
