Simplify Life

Offline to online r-Evolution

It’s been nine years since the Saasu business model was first thought up. Back then broadband wasn’t widespread and most people thought an “ASP” was a kind of dangerous snake. A lot of “evolution” in the industry has occured since then and just recently this is becoming more of a “revolution” as the herd migrate from offline to online for their business systems.

Accountants, particularly in the last year have really seen the benefits. That is, the significant advantage of accessibility, data-centralisation and application upgrade management. Removing the version conflict issues is the big unseen benefit that really shows itself up post moving to the SaaS model from software. The uptake in the last year by the industry has been extremely satisfying for our business.

Accountants are conservative, this is a good thing. Do you want these professionals flipping between different software systems on a regular basis? Obviously not, so when we started seeing a distinct change this year in accountant interest and signups we new the sector was changing attitude. To change from software to an on-demand application is a great sentiment vote and acceptance that we really appreciate.

As we are fast approaching the financial year end we expect a large conversion rate this year as accountants switch customers over while it’s quick and easy. Conversions on 1st July mean that the Chart of Accounts, Contact list and Opening Balances are the main imports required to convert a customer to online Saasu from offline software. There are other tasks for specific circumstances but the avoidance of mass transaction migration really makes this a much simpler exercise.

Obviously we would love our readers to join the r-Evolution. We make no apologies for this because we beleive it’s a win-win for us and the customer.
