Plans and Pricing Questions and Answers

What am I paying for?

When you subscribe to Saasu you pay for the number of files you need rather than users. A file is a legal entity.

Will you delete my data if my Subscription expires?

No we don’t. One month after your file expires Saasu may deactivate your account and archive your data for 7 years. If you decide to come back to Saasu we require a minimum payment of 3 months subscription value to re-activate your file. This in lieu of charging a data recovery fee.

Can I downgrade to free from a paid plan?

Saasu files can’t be downgraded. If you need to leave Saasu we offer export formats for your data at View > Import or Export area. You should then go to My Saasu > Manage Subscriptions and deactivate your file using the Pause icon to the right of your file name in the list of files.

Saasu then archives your data for 7 years. If you decide to come back to Saasu we require a minimum payment of 3 months subscription value to re-activate your file.

Do you accept monthly or part payments?

We don’t accept partial subscriptions or cheques so we can keep our business simple and reduce costs for all our customers.

What do you count as a transaction?

Transactions are a Sale, Purchase, Bank Transfer, Pay or Journal entry. Transactions are not Accounts, Employees, Contacts, Timesheets, Activities or Attachments.

How do I upgrade?

Sign in to Saasu. Go to My Saasu > Manage Subscription > click the Upgrade option at the top of the page.

Charity discount?

We don’t sorry. Saasu is already inexpensive so we aren’t likely to discount except in exceptional circumstances.

What does Support include?

Saasu service desk is available for general technical and product usage questions. It is expected that you have referred to the help system before logging a service call or ticket. The service desk isn’t for bookkeeping or accounting advice. Saasu doesn’t have a hard limit on the volumes of queries as Saasu is fairly easy to use so queries tend to be low. We reserve the right under our terms to decline support where we think the request level and call time is unreasonable compared to general support levels required by our customers.

What document or attachments limits do you have?

As long as your average file size uploaded is reasonable we don’t restrict the storage limit. Generally a PDF file created from a document might be 50k to 200k in size. Multi-page files will be larger and that’s fine also. We aren’t that strict, we just like to know you aren’t uploading or scanning inefficiently large files to store against Saasu transactions. We’ll let you know some alternate approaches if we feel your usage is above what we see as a normal range for our customers.

Can I get a demonstration of Saasu?

Saasu provides online demonstrations via webinars and is also sold on self-assess basis. You can sign up to the Trial version and ask us any questions you have via phone or email to service@saasu.com during your review.

Can I host the software myself?

We don’t sell our software for you to run on your own servers sorry.

What if My Accountant isn’t as keen on me moving to Saasu?

We are happy to introduce Accountants to our products and even provide them with some free training should they decide to commit to using Saasu. Accountants can offer real-time advice using real-time information on their client’s business without the need to send copies of files around and worry about out of sync data.

How do I Move to Saasu?

The most popular (and mainly free) ways to move from your old financial management system to Saasu are:

  1. A fresh start over a tax period end (move your Contacts, Chart of Accounts and Opening Balances), this is the free DIY approach that takes 15 minutes.
  2. As above plus some extra information. Most people follow the import process used for MYOB (a popular traditional software package) and adjust the process for the particular needs, this is free and you can DIY in as little as 20 minutes.
  3. Migrate Contacts, Chart of Accounts, Items, Sales and Purchases. This is free and you can DIY in as little as 30 minutes.
  4. Engage a Saasu Premier Partner to quote on and migrate your full historical data using manual data entry or a custom developed migration strategy.

How much data storage capacity do I have?

We don’t restrict the storage capacity at this stage as storage is quite cheap so the limit relates to unreasonable use outside our fair play policy. At this stage we would review files using more than 10 GB as a file needing to be reviewed with the subscriber. Usually an exception would relate to upload of files not designed to be stored in Saasu such as Movies, Architectural CAD files etc. So a few quick changes reduces the usage back to reasonable levels. If it is a large business with large data levels then an upgrade to corporate, enterprise or unlimited might be required.

Can I be billed for separate files?

No, billing is only available at the subscription level. You can have multiple subscriptions though. We require a written request to transfer file(s) from one subscription to another. All users related to the transferring file in the new subscription must have the same access levels available as in the original subscription.

I’m not an Australian or New Zealand company so why do you charge GST?

Saasu’s services are essentially Australian and New Zealand based even though we do store and manage data in other countries. Accordingly we need to charge GST while it isn’t defined as an export.

I’ve read that if you store files in the USA then the file is subject to laws that let their government look at your data?

We don’t believe the USA would abuse the power of these laws. Australia has similar powers and we don’t believe Australia would abuse it’s powers to do so either. Our opinion is that the risk of abuse of these laws by these governments is lower than basic risks our customers have in their day to day lives that often get left unattended such as unlocked letter boxes or accounting data stored locally on laptops or computers that can be stolen. If however, you aren’t comfortable with the USA government and their laws then it’s best not to subscribe to Saasu.
